NANAIMO’S NEW COWORKING HUB
The Network Hub opens in British Columbia’s Harbour City, Nanaimo
Nanaimo, BC, May 4, 2015 – British Columbia’s Harbour City, Nanaimo, now has its very own coworking space as The Network Hub opens its first Vancouver Island branch in the heart of the city’s business centre at 256 Wallace Street.
“When we thought about further expansion, Nanaimo was definitely on our list as the city is growing to be one of BC’s big business hubs,” explains Jay Catalan, co-founder of The Network Hub. “Not only is Nanaimo surrounded by breathtaking mountains and scenery, but the location is a great fit for entrepreneurs, small businesses, remote personnel, freelancers, and business travellers. The list goes on. Many of our workspaces have already been spoken for. The demand is certainly there.”
The Network Hub Nanaimo not only features 12 workspaces, but also three large private offices, a rentable board room, event space for up to 20 people and 40 people, and a lobby that will soon include a pop-up retail store filled with local goods. Prospective members have an array of options to choose from, depending on their different working styles, including a virtual office, mailbox rental, and mail forwarding.
Angie Barnard“The most important aspect of working in Nanaimo is the incredible collaboration we have here,” adds Angie Barnard, Chief Motivating Officer & Founder of The Network Hub Nanaimo. “We are an Island, so in addition to sharing an amazing lifestyle, the community is resourceful, shares ideas, and helps each other find solutions – that is certainly one ingredient for success. We want to be the go-to-space for businesses investing in their growth, and we already have membership commitments with local, regional and provincial businesses including ThrivingLocally.com, Kick Nanaimo, Community Futures and Align4Growth.”
As with all The Network Hub locations, members have access to a global network of coworking spaces for up to three days via the Coworking Visa Map, curated by The Network Hub.
The hub space occupies 3,000 square feet on two stories and boasts floor to ceiling windows, warm dark wood accents, and comfortable and functional furniture. The pop-up retail shop is expected to open later this year.
The Network Hub launched its coworking business in Vancouver in May of 2006 with a location in Gastown, and expanded further to New Westminster and Whistler. The company currently has a total of 18,000 square feet of office space in British Columbia, and hopes to expand in the future with an office in Squamish.
