Nanaimo Taxpayers On Hook For Another Five Years!
It is now becoming clear why the local press has been extolling the success of the VICC and telling us what a wonderful job they are doing.

It turns out that the business masters at city hall weren’t satisfied with giving the operators of the VICC a five year contract without considering competing bids, they chose to give them a one time five year renewal option at the same time.

Guess what?? The operators, realizing they have such a sweet deal have exercised their option to renew for five years, so even if the taxpayers of Nanaimo wanted to see the who thing just close down and save the $1,000,000 a year, we would be out of luck.

I have asked to see a copy of this contract to see just exactly what kind of a deal, the deal makers at city hall crafted for us this time.
