Water Damaged Road Section Remains Closed
While the exact cause of the ruptured watermain on Holyrood won’t be known until lab tests are complete, this broken main has moved up replacement of the main in this area by several years.

It simply may be a case of some infrastructure failing before the city’s works department guesstimates thought it would be necessary, although in this case it is possible that a poor installation may have hastened the problem.

In the meantime city staff are concerned that the road itself may not be safe for vehicle traffic which is why it remains closed.
